Sprouts celebrates grand opening

The much-anticipated Sprouts Farmers Market celebrated its grand opening this week. The Lee's Summit Journal's Toriano Porter tells us part of the celebration includes discounts and coupons for the market's new customers. During its opening week, the store is also making donations to Harvesters Community Food Network.


Frozen yogurt store to celebrate grand opening

In another note from the Journal, Menchie's self-serve frozen yogurt has opened at 1802 NW Chipman Road. The store will be celebrating its grand opening Saturday, March 26 through Friday, April 1. The seven-day celebration includes several yogurt, merchandise and activities.


Long-time businessman and veterinarian, Bud Hertzog receives award

Bud Hertzog of Lee’s Summit was one of three regional business leaders and public figures recognized recently by Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City, according to the Journal. Hertzog was awarded the Jay B. Dillingham award for agricultural leadership and excellence, as was former U.S. Senator Kit Bond and the CEO of Agriculture Future of America, Russ Weathers.
