She talked with students about the writing process, her dogs and chickens and living in Atlanta, Ga. Part of the discussion revolved around encouraging students that there are no “boy” and “girl” things. For example, power tools are thought to be “boy” things, she said. But, Ms. Pearce enjoys power tools and made her own chicken coops.
Ms. Pearce holds degrees in both English and philosophy. Her book “Double Cross” is a 2017-2018 Mark Twain Award nominee.
