Lee’s Summit North High School National Honor Society (NHS) is partnering with Paradise Park to raise money for the group’s charitable activities. The NHS members will be working in several special Halloween events at the park during October including Zombie Laser Tag Hayride, an outdoor event, and Infection, an indoor/outdoor laser tag experience.

Over the past 15 to 20 years, the LSN National Honor Society members have served at Worlds of Fun haunts to raise money for the group’s philanthropic efforts. This year, the students made the decision to partner with the local business.

“Our whole focus at Paradise Park is to continue to help create a community culture of caring, helping, working together to create something that is better than what we can do alone,” says Jon Ellis, Paradise Park founder/CEO. “We saw this as another great opportunity for Paradise Park to partner with a local school and help them while they help us, all in an environment of safe, clean fun. And we’re excited to have such great kids working with our team to make these haunted attractions great for our guests.”

LSNHS NHS students will volunteer their time and talents, build community with each other while serving their hometown, and help a local business provide excellent entertainment. In return, Paradise Park will make a donation to LSN National Honor Society that will help meet the organization’s fundraising goals. The money raised will help National Honor Society host parties at Hope House, serve meals at City Union Mission and provide service projects around school. National Honor Society members are also distributing Zombie Attack coupon cards with the organization receiving a portion of the ticket sales when the coupons are redeemed at Paradise Park.

International Baccalaureate history teacher Sarah Courtney has lead the fundraising committee as a LSN NHS sponsor for about 11 years, and coordinated the logistics between Paradise Park and the students.

“We feel so great about Paradise Park being in our neighborhood and enabling our kids to partner with people right here in our community without having to leave Lee’s Summit,” she said. “It’s such a perfect fit in so many ways. We are really excited about supporting a local business, knowing the people in charge, having such a safe environment and easy drive for our kids, and having more evening service options. ”
