Summit Christian football partners with KC Chiefs to distribute food
Summit Christian Academy football players spent their Halloween handing out meat rather than candy. The team was invited by Harvesters to help the Chiefs Community Caring Team as well as the Chiefs Linebackers as they loaded more than 30,000 pounds of protein meat products that had been donated by Tyson Foods. The products were loaded and delivered to over sixty area food pantries and service organizations.

According to SCA head coach Todd Berck, “This was a great opportunity for the SCA football team to partner with the KC Chiefs and help distribute food to those in need around the Kansas City area. As one of the largest Christian high schools in the area, I feel it is our responsibility to set the example as we give to others that are in need and treat others as we would want to be treated. Our team stepped up to the task as they willingly gave up their time to serve others.”
The SCA football team was invited by Harvesters to participate in this project with the Kansas City Chiefs based on the positive working relationship the team has had with Harvesters in the past.
