R-7 middle schools recognize Students of the Month for September

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District middle schools recently recognized their September Students of the Month. Students of the Month are recognized based on outstanding citizenship, conduct, attitude and school involvement.

Students of the Month from Bernard Campbell Middle School are Logan Turner and Landon Binger. At BCMS, Logan is involved in art contests and is a WEB CARES leader. Away from school, Logan enjoys competitive softball and soccer. At BCMS, Landon is involved in cross country, Mustang SMART, Cyber Patriots, Lee’s Summit Teachers Academy, scholar bowl and is a WEB CARES leader. Away from school, Landon enjoys baseball, basketball, soccer and Boy Scouts.

Students of the Month from Pleasant Lea Middle School are Maggie Upp and Austin Boyer. At PLMS, Maggie is involved in cheerleading and the talent show. Away from school, Maggie enjoys church youth group and competitive dance, performing in Kansas City and traveling ballets. At PLMS, Austin is involved in Student Advisory Group and cross country.  Away from school, Austin enjoys soccer, baseball, basketball and his swim team.

Students of the Month from Summit Lakes Middle School are Libby Bastow and Tyler Batliner. At SLMS, Libby is involved in cross country, orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, tech crew, scholar bowl, Ukulele Club, reader selector, science lab assistant and Cyber Patriots. Away from school, Libby enjoys her swim league and Longview Chapel Teens-In-Action. At SLMS, Tyler is involved in Lee’s Summit Teachers Academy and assists with special needs students. Away from school, Tyler enjoys his soccer club team and basketball team.
