Canoes, Stand-up Paddle boards, and Bikes to be Available for Free Reservations at Legacy Park
Announcing a new perk for park users, the Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation department has announced they'll begin offering a free canoe, stand-up paddle board and bicycle reservations for use at Legacy Park.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 at Legacy Park Community Center.

“We’re excited to make these amenities available to Lee’s Summit,” said LPCC manager Jodi Bell. “We’ve offered paid rentals of canoes and paddle boards for several years now, but we’ve decided to make those reservations free to encourage more people to get outdoors,” she said.
The addition of free bicycle reservations is due to a contribution from Bike Stop, a local bicycle store which is partnering with LSPR for their annual Tour de Lakes ride on June 24, the new Trick-a-Bike ride for kids in October, as well as the annual Night Flight 5K on June 9. “Bike Stop wants to help area residents get out and get active. And their contribution to make these bikes available to reserve for free is going to go a long way toward that,” Bell said.
