Local business leaders team up to support LS Social Services Back to School efforts

A group of local business leaders joined forces to support Lee's Summit Social Services annual back to school store.

Matt Sanning, LSSS executive director, said the store is established annually to give its clients an affordable avenue to obtain school supplies for the coming year. The store is open now through the start of school this month. Sanning said he estimates 650 local students will come through the store for school supplies.

Seth Kakuske, a Lee's Summit resident and franchise owner for Junkluggers of Kansas City headed up the efforts resulting in 10 boxes of suplies and more than $200 in monetary support for store. The group of local businesses and business owners making the donations included: Julia E. Hampton, CPA, PC; Bacon Financial Services; Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce; Olinger Insurance; NBKC Bank; Freeland Photography; 12 on Third St.; Morehead Agency; Weed Man; Tim Hosmann; Wells Fargo-Chuck Cooper; and Diffactory.

Lee's Summit resident Seth Kakuske, franchise owner for Junkluggers of Kansas City, led a team of local business leaders collecting supplies and donations for Lee's Summit Social Services' back to school store.
