Lee's Summit West student athlete receives NAIA Champion of Character Award
Baylie Andersen, a student at Lee’s Summit West High School, was recently named the High School Student-Athlete of Character by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Baylie is being honored at the NAIA fifth annual Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon, scheduled for May 15 in Kansas City.

Baylie is a LSWHS volleyball player and was nominated by her coach, Jennifer Morgan.
The event is also recognizing several other Kansas City metropolitan area individuals including Coach of Character, Company of Character, Collegiate Student-Athletes of Character and Team of Character.
“The NAIA is an organization that celebrates character,” said Jim Carr, NAIA president and CEO. “Individuals honored at the luncheon exemplify a daily commitment to the core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program.”
The awards recognize individuals and businesses that embody the NAIA’s five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
