Local resident rallies bikers, supporters to 'Ride for Lee’s Summit'

A local resident is putting on his helmet and encouraging bikers and community members to take a ride for a local charity. Robert Buchanan, a Lee’s Summit resident and military veteran, is organizing the Saturday, Aug. 31 Ride for Lee’s Summit, a 100-mile bike ride spanning from Lee’s Summit to Pleasant Hill, Lexington, north of Oak Grove and finishing at Fringe Beerworks in downtown Lee’s Summit.

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is rolling out pop-up art with a twist in the parks

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation (LSPR) is adding pop up art to some of their parks. However, patrons will only be able to see this art when the trails and sidewalks are wet. Nineteen talented young people selected for June 1 Got Talent

Talented young people from throughout the metropolitan area will be featured in the ninth annual Got Talent, scheduled for 7 p.m. June 1 at the Lee’s Summit High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets for the show are $15 and are available at LSTalent.com, at both Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee stores and at the Lee’s Summit Price Chopper stores.
