New owners celebrating first anniversary at downtown's LS Scrapbook Boutique

December first will mark the first anniversary for LS Scrapbook Boutique owners Stacie and Randy Walker. The couple purchased the Scrapbook Boutique on December 1, 2016 and changed the name to LS Scrapbook Boutique.  They are both local residents and Randy graduated from Lee’s Summit High School.  Stacie grew up in south Kansas City and graduated from Hickman Mills High School.

Council ready to interview 10 applicants for vacant District 4 seat

A little more than a month after voters in City Council District 4 chose to recall Chris Moreno, the City is moving closer to filling the now-vacant seat. On April 24, Mayor Randy Rhoads and the Council began a previously-used process of filling the seat by calling for interested residents of the district to submit applications for the position. When the application process closed on April 4, 10 people had submitted their names for consideration by the Council. The Council will interview each applicant during this week's (May 11) televised City Council meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. Ten District 4 residents have applied for the position.
